As the Media and Law Studies Association (“MLSA”); We attach importance to the privacy and security of the personal data of our participants and speakers who attend our face-to-face and online seminars and events, the people in our communication network, job applicants, suppliers and service providers and for this purpose;

We process data by prioritizing Article 20/3 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, Article 10 of the Personal Data Protection Law No 6698 (“The Law”), the provisions of Notification on Principles and Procedures to be Followed in Fulfillment of the Obligation to Inform and within the framework of this clarification text; and we aim to inform the relevant data owners.

For Online and Face-to-face Seminar, Training, Panel, and Event Participants

The following data is processed for the purposes of confirming the participation, determining the number of participations, fulfilling our obligation to document that our association carries out activities in accordance with its founding principles and uses the financial resources in this direction, planning the upcoming events, and providing feedback to the participants.

  • Matters Regarding Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your above-mentioned personal data may be shared with domestic or foreign institutions whom we are co-operating with and who share our sensitivity about data security and comply with the provisions of the relevant legislation; and may be transferred between association units within the scope of the performance of our activities, for the sole purpose of accountability, verifying that the association carries our activities in accordance with the founding principles, and documenting the use of financial resources.

  • Method and Legal Reason for Personal Data Collection

These personal data are processed with partially or completely automatic methods such as filling in participation forms, contracts, taking visual and audio recordings in online events, and based on the following legal reasons stipulated in Article 5 of the Law such as clearly provided for by the laws, directly related to the conclusion or fulfillment of that contract, mandatory for the controller to be able to perform his legal obligations, mandatory for the legitimate interests of the controller, provided that this processing shall not violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject; and the express consent given in accordance with Articles 5 and 6 of the Law.

  • Your Rights as Personal Data Owner

Regarding your processed personal data, in accordance with Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698: You have the rights to:

– Learn whether your personal data is processed or not,

– Request information if your personal data is processed,

– Learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether this data is used for intended purposes,

– Know the third parties in the country or abroad to whom personal data is transferred,

– Request rectification of personal data, if processed incompletely or inaccurately,

– Request the erasure or destruction of your personal data under the conditions laid down in

Article 7, and request notification of the operations to third parties to whom your personal

data has been transferred,

– Object to the processing, exclusively by automatic means, of your personal data, which

leads to an unfavorable consequence for the data subject,

– Request compensation for the damage arising from the unlawful processing of your

personal data.
