A warrant has been issued for the forced appearance of Yüksel Genç in the ongoing “KCK Press Case,” where 46 journalists and media workers are on trial in Turkey on charges including “membership in a terrorist organization,” “leading a terrorist organization,” and “terror propaganda.”
The 35th hearing of the case—widely known as the “KCK Press Case” in Turkey—was held at the Istanbul 3rd High Criminal Court. The defendants include former staff members of the now-shuttered pro-Kurdish newspapers Özgür Gündem and Azadiya Welat, as well as journalists from Dicle News Agency (DİHA) and employees of Fırat Distribution Company.
Neither the defendants nor their lawyers attended the hearing. The court ruled to await the execution of outstanding arrest warrants for several defendants. In addition, for Yüksel Genç—whose defense had not yet been taken in relation to a merged case file—the court ordered that she be brought in by force.
The next hearing is scheduled for April 30, 2026, at 10:10 a.m.
