Tuesday, September 30

10:10 a.m. – The hearing in the case against journalist Semiha Şahin will be held at Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court.
10:20 a.m. – The first hearing in the case against journalist Elif Akgül, who was arrested in February on charges of “membership in a terrorist organization” as part of the HDK investigation and released on June 2, will take place at the Istanbul 25th High Criminal Court. Akgül is represented by MLSA.
12:00 p.m. – A hearing will be held at Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of First Instance in the case against individuals who chanted slogans demanding a halt to trade with Israel during President Erdoğan’s speech at the TRT World Forum event.

Wednesday, October 1
9:30 a.m. – The second hearing in the case against manager Ayşe Barım, who is accused of “aiding the attempt to overthrow the government of the Republic of Turkey,” will be held at the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court. Barım has been in pretrial detention since January 27.

Thursday, October 2

10:00 a.m. – The first hearing in the case against Ramazan Şimşek, who was detained after announcing that services at his café, Pîne Kafe, in Diyarbakır would be provided in Kurdish and later placed under six months of house arrest, will be held at the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court. He is charged with “making terrorist propaganda on a continuous basis” and faces up to 7.5 years in prison.
10:30 a.m. – A hearing in the case against journalist Ziya Çiçekçi, who is charged with “making terrorist propaganda” based on his social media posts from 2017, will take place at Istanbul 33rd High Criminal Court.
11:05 a.m. – A hearing in the case against journalist Rüstem Batum, based on his remarks made on İMC TV before it was shut down by decree, will be held at Istanbul 43rd Criminal Court of First Instance. He is charged with “openly insulting the military and security forces of the state.”
11:15 a.m. – Journalist Hazal Ocak will appear before the Istanbul 33rd Civil Court of First Instance in a TL 200,000 non-pecuniary damages lawsuit filed by then-Finance Minister Berat Albayrak over her report titled “The groom knows his business.”
11:30 a.m. – Journalist Furkan Karabay will stand trial at the Istanbul 22nd High Criminal Court on charges of “targeting individuals involved in counterterrorism efforts,” “insult,” and “public dissemination of misleading information,” over his social media posts regarding an investigation into Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer.
11:30 a.m. – A hearing will be held at the Istanbul 24th High Criminal Court in the case against journalists Hayri TunçGülistan DursunPınar GayıpSerpil ÜnalCan PapilaMuhammet Enes SezginOsman AkınHacı Ugiş, and İmam Şenol, who were charged after attempting to make a press statement in support of their colleagues in the Şişhane district of Istanbul.
12:30 p.m. – The second hearing in the case against seven individuals charged for participating in protests following Ekrem İmamoğlu’s detention will be held at Istanbul 20th Criminal Court of First Instance.

Friday, October 3

10:00 a.m. – The second hearing in another case concerning detentions during protests sparked by the detention and arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu will be held at Istanbul 62nd Criminal Court of First Instance.
10:00 a.m. – The first hearing in the case against jailed journalist Fatih Altaylı, who has been in custody since June 22, will be held at the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court. Altaylı is charged with “threatening the president” over remarks made on his YouTube channel. He will appear in Courtroom No. 2, located across from the Marmara Prison Complex, on October 3.
