Van journalist İdris Yılmaz, who was detained by police on 21 January was formally arrested on 22 January and sent to prison on charges of spreading propaganda on behalf of a terrorist organization.
Yılmaz was detained by police in his home located in Van’s Erciş district. He was taken to the Erciş Police Department, after which, he was referred to a court on propaganda charges. The court ruled to put him under arrest.
He was sent to Erciş Prison.
