Journalist Nur Ener released from prison, but will be kept under house arrest

Nur Ener, a reporter with the religious-minded Yeni Asya newspaper, was released by a ruling of the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court on 20 February.

However, Ener will remain under house arrest as per the court's interim ruling.

Ener was detained in a pre-dawn raid in her Istanbul home in March 2017. She was later put in prison on charges of supporting Turkey's coup attempt of 2016 July.

The prosecutor will submit his final opinion on the case on 19 April.

More detailed information on her arrest can be found here
